4th grade is the year we learn all about Utah History! We learn the 29 counties, we learn about our National Parks, we learn about the ancient Native American people that inhabited what is now Utah, as well as the 5 Native American Tribes which currently reside in Utah’s borders. We learn about the pioneers, the Golden Spike, Utah’s state song, etc. At the end of the 4th grade, the students are literally brimming with fascinating facts about our wonderful state! Your student will be taking a final Utah History exam at the end of the school year and may qualify for “The Great Utahn Award”, to be awarded on stage at our year-end 4th Grade assembly. The Great Utahn Award study guide is found in students’ red homework folder and can also be downloaded below. Toward the end of the year, students will also be assigned a particular Utah County. They are expected to research their county and present their reports to the class. Details on the County Report project can also be found under this tab.
